NTB Makes First Copper Export Worth USD 35.16 Million to China, Taiwan, and Thailand

As of April 2025, Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB) has exported processed copper worth USD 35.16 million. According to Wahyudin, Head of NTB Statistics Agency (BPS), this is NTB’s first significant export of processed copper, which differs from raw mining exports and is produced by the smelter operated by PT AMIN. Copper exports now represent the largest share of NTB’s total exports, accounting for nearly 90% of the USD 56.41 million total export value. The copper is shipped in various sizes to markets in China, Taiwan, and Thailand via Tanjung Perak port in Surabaya.
Besides copper, NTB also exports seafood products such as fish and shrimp valued at USD 1.62 million to countries including the US, Canada, and China. Other exported commodities include cultivated pearls worth USD 1.58 million sent to Australia, Hong Kong, and Japan, as well as processed fish and meat products mainly shipped to the US and Singapore. Smaller export volumes include salt, sulfur, limestone, and electrical machinery, demonstrating NTB’s growing diversification and increasing role in international trade beyond raw materials.
