As of May 2025, a total of 466 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Indonesia participating in the Ministry of Trade’s export facilitation program have collectively generated export transactions worth over IDR 1 trillion (approximately USD 68.61 million). Most of these SMEs come from Java and Sumatra, offering a diverse range of products such as footwear, food and beverages, and handicrafts. Minister of Trade Budi Santoso, during a visit to Surabaya, emphasized that these results reflect the growing potential of Indonesian SMEs in the global market, particularly with exports reaching destinations in Southeast Asia, Central Asia, and the Middle East.
The program, launched by the Ministry of Trade, provides comprehensive support including regular online pitching sessions and direct business matchmaking with international buyers. The ministry also offers guidance throughout the transaction process to ensure legitimacy and smooth execution. Budi highlighted that product quality and production capacity are essential criteria for participation, as consistent supply is key to sustaining international demand. He encouraged more SMEs to join the program, noting its significant role in boosting local economic growth and increasing Indonesia’s export footprint. With strong commitment and strategic support, Indonesian SMEs are proving their ability to compete globally and contribute meaningfully to the national economy.
