From these nurseries, approximately 16 million seedlings will be produced. "This is so that plants that have ecological and economic functions are planted. Because in the future we want to develop a green economy," said Jokowi in Rumpin District, Bogor, Friday (27/11). Later, the seeds that are produced will be distributed to areas that often experience floods and landslides. The former mayor of Solo also hopes that these seeds can have a sustainable impact from an ecological and economic perspective for the lower classes.

The President asked that the seeds to be planted were plants such as abesia, eucalyptus, mahogany, kaya, merbau, to ebony. Then, fruits, such as durian and others. The seed center will later stand on an area of 159.58 hectares consisting of a seed zone, a community management zone, a training zone, and a business development corridor zone. Jokowi said this model would be a model for other locations such as Lake Toba (North Sumatra), Mandalika (NTB), Labuan Bajo (NTT), and Likupang (North Sulawesi). This area does not include the construction of a nursery which is designated for the improvement of mangrove forests covering an area of 630,000 hectares. On this occasion, the Head of State also conducted a review of the tissue culture laboratory in that location as well as surveyed the pruning garden, shading house and propagation house. In addition, Jokowi also reviewed the location of the planned construction of the International Tropical Forest Research and Seed Center. Also accompanying the review were Minister of Environment and Forestry Siti Nurbaya Bakar, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, and Director General of Watershed Control and Forest Rehabilitation of Hudoyo.

Previously, entrepreneurs who were members of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KAdin) stated that the Covid-19 pandemic was the first step in the transformation to a sustainable economic model. This is because sustainable development is needed to protect the environment, social and economy in the future. "Businesses, stakeholders and economic actors must take advantage of the momentum of Covid-19 for transformation in sustainable business practices," said Deputy Chairperson of Kadin for International Relations, Shinta W. Kamdani, last August.
