PT. Bumi Mineral Sulawesi (BMS) signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sumitomo Corporation. One of the global trading companies from Japan. The signing took place at the Indonesian Pavilion, World Expo Osaka, Japan, as part of the nickel matte export market expansion initiative to South Korea.The signing of this MoU is an important momentum in supporting the national mineral downstreaming program. As well as encouraging the growth of exports of value-added commodities from Indonesia. The contents of the MoU include a number of important points, such as nickel matte sales tonnage, price agreement, shipping method, and the terms of the agreement between the two parties. The product to be exported is High Nickel Matte, one of the high-value derivative products from nickel ore processing. The signing of this MoU was also witnessed by the General Chairperson of BPP HIPMI, Akbar Buchari, who gave his appreciation and support for the steps of PT. BMS and Sumitomo. According to him, this collaboration is in line with President Prabowo Subianto's government program in encouraging downstreaming and creating a positive trade balance.
