The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of East Java reported that exports from the region reached USD 2.18 billion in April 2025, rising 19.68% compared to USD 1.74 billion in April 2024. This growth was mainly driven by non-oil and gas exports, which increased by 21.53% from USD 1.74 billion to USD 2.11 billion. The manufacturing sector supported this rise with exports of USD 2.01 billion, up 19.94% year-on-year, while agricultural exports surged 66.98% to USD 102.18 million. From January to April 2025, East Java’s total exports grew by 2.27% year-on-year to USD 8.31 billion, driven by a 3.65% increase in non-oil and gas exports from USD 7.81 billion to USD 8.10 billion. Oil and gas exports dropped sharply by 32.22% to USD 211.24 million due to declines in crude oil exports (down 33.71%) and refined oil products (down 11.59%). Manufacturing exports accounted for 92.02% of non-oil and gas exports, reaching USD 7.65 billion, boosted by animal and vegetable fats and oils, along with various chemical products.
