Majestic Koi Farm is committed to continuing to develop the koi fish industry in the Tanjungpinang City area. This was emphasized by the Owner of Majestic Koi Farm, Adria Efendi. He said that in the last five years, his koi fish business has not only succeeded in penetrating the national market, but has also begun to target the export market. However, he said, in order to develop more rapidly, the koi industry requires active community involvement, as is done in Japan. "In Japan, a village can survive from koi fish exports. We learned directly from them how to cultivate koi professionally, now we are implementing it in Tanjungpinang and the results are very positive," he said to hariankepri.com yesterday. Adria said that Majestic Koi Farm is currently one of the largest koi farms in Indonesia.
They have also sent koi fish to various regions in the country, and are exploring the export market to neighboring countries such as Singapore and Malaysia. “Tanjungpinang is very strategic, close to Singapore and Malaysia. The climate and natural conditions are suitable for koi development. In a year, we can produce up to 5 million koi fish from here,” he added.
Not only focusing on business, Majestic Koi Farm also develops social programs. One of them is a plan to raise foster children, who will later be educated to college and assisted in finding work. “We also want to create jobs and empower the community. In the long term, we will collaborate with koi lover communities from all over Indonesia to continue to strengthen social assistance programs,” he said. According to Adria, government support is very important to develop the great potential of this koi industry. He hopes that the Tanjungpinang City Government will continue to provide space and support to koi industry players to be able to compete in the international market.
