Pandeglang marked a significant milestone with the first export of 5,000 ikan mas sinyonya (Sinyonya goldfish) to Vietnam. The ceremonial release was attended by regional officials including the Deputy Regent of Pandeglang, representatives from the Ministry of Trade, and related stakeholders. Tabrani, a local official, noted that the fish originated from aquaculture managed by the Village-Owned Enterprise (Bumdes) in Bandung Village. He added that several other countries have also shown interest in importing the fish, urging the Bumdes to scale up production to stimulate the local economy.
Bandung Village Chief Wahyu Kusnadiharja stated the export would be officially dispatched on June 2, 2025, following a quarantine process. He emphasized that demand is growing beyond Vietnam, with countries like Malaysia, Singapore, Timor Leste, and Saudi Arabia expressing interest. The 35-day-old *ikan mas sinyonya* are unique to Banjar District in Pandeglang, distinguished by their narrow eyes, golden-yellow color, and long fins. Known for their long lifespan—often exceeding 15 years—they can also grow to weigh over 20 kilograms, making them a highly marketable aquaculture product.
