The spirit of bringing local Indonesian products to the world market was echoed again through the UKM-IKM Trade Expo (UITE) 2025 which was held on 27-28th May 2025 at the SME Tower, Ministry of UMKM RI, Jakarta. The event, initiated by the Corporate Forum for CSR Development (CFCD) Jakarta Chapter, aims to strengthen the position of small and medium enterprises (UKM-IKM) in the international arena, as well as being a forum for education and promotion for local business actors. UITE 2025 carries the theme "UKM-IKM Penetrates the Global Market: Understanding Opportunities, Answering Export Challenges". Various interesting activities are presented, starting from an exhibition of superior products, a talk show entitled "UKM-IKM Go Global", to a one-on-one export consultation session through the International Business Clinic (IBC). The IBC session is the main highlight, where business actors can meet directly with foreign trade representatives and export practitioners to measure their readiness to enter the global market.
The event was officially opened by the representative of the Indonesian Minister of SMEs and attended by a number of figures. Various speakers from export destination countries such as Saudi Arabia, the Netherlands, Japan, and Australia also shared their experiences and successful strategies in building export markets. "UKM-IKM Trade Expo is a concrete initiative to connect the dreams of SMEs with the reality of the global market," said Ira Damayanti, Chairperson of ID SEED, a diaspora organization that is one of the main supporters of this expo. Meanwhile, Chairperson of CFCD Jakarta Hartanto Indradi emphasized the importance of cross-sector collaboration as the key to the success of sustainable exports.With more than 65 million SMEs contributing around 61% to the national GDP and absorbing 97% of the workforce, the 2025 UKM-IKM Trade Expo is expected to strengthen the connection between local business actors and opportunities abroad, while encouraging inclusive and sustainable national economic growth.
