In a bid to strengthen exports and attract foreign investment, the Province of Lampung has warmly welcomed cooperation with the United Arab Emirates (UAE), particularly in the agricultural and plantation sectors. During a meeting with the UAE Embassy delegation on May 27, 2025, Lampung’s Vice Governor Jihan Nurlela expressed the province’s openness to international partnerships and emphasized the importance of developing export-oriented commodities.
Vice Governor Jihan highlighted ongoing cooperation with the UAE through the Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC), which operates in agriculture, food processing, shipping, and finance. Lampung currently exports glycerin products derived from palm oil and soybeans via LDC. This new momentum is expected to further explore and develop the region’s potential into new export commodities. Ms. Shaima Alhabsi, Deputy Head of Mission of the UAE Embassy, expressed enthusiasm for expanding collaboration, noting the vast potential to create new job opportunities and foster mutually beneficial outcomes. The event also included participation from senior LDC and UAE Embassy officials, underlining strong international interest in Lampung’s economic growth.
