The Ministry of Trade together with the Indonesian Furniture and Craft Industry Association (HIMKI) launched the Indonesia International Furniture Expo (IFEX) 2026 at the Ministry of Trade office, Jakarta, on Wednesday (21/5). IFEX 2026 will be held on 5-8th March 2026 at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD City in Tangerang Regency, Banten. Minister of Trade Budi Santoso said that this activity is a real commitment of synergy between the government and industry players in supporting national export growth. The commitment through IFEX 2026 is a boost for the furniture and craft sector which has great potential in the global market. "We appreciate the collaborative efforts of various parties to improve the performance of non-oil and gas exports. Through the IFEX exhibition, Indonesia is expected to increasingly demonstrate its existence as a competitive supplier of furniture and crafts in the global market," said Trade Minister Busan.
Trade Minister Busan said that Indonesia is known as one of the countries producing high-quality furniture. "Furniture and craft business actors in Indonesia have also begun to apply the principle of sustainability in their business processes. This step increasingly provides added value that strengthens the positive image of Indonesian products in the international market," said Trade Minister Busan. In January-March 2025, Indonesian furniture and craft exports reached USD 644.83 million. This value increased by 0.85% compared to the same period the previous year. The main countries for Indonesia's exports include the United States, Japan, the Netherlands, Germany, and France. Meanwhile, in 2024, Indonesia was recorded as the 20th largest furniture and craft exporter in the world, with total exports reaching USD 2.43 billion. The Ministry of Trade has a number of strategic programs to encourage Indonesian furniture and craft exports. One of them is trade promotion through business matching that connects Indonesian business actors with potential foreign buyers.
