On 5 May 2025, the Karo Regency Government and the North Sumatra Quarantine Office supported the release of 20 tonnes of potato and sweet potato exports to Singapore from PT Gabe Tiga Puluh to PT Alamanda Singapore at PT Koncota's warehouse in Gurusinga Village, Berastagi. Over the past two years, PT Gabe Tiga Puluh has been exporting these commodities, despite fluctuations in supply due to challenges in maintaining adequate inventory and sourcing additional quantities from Java Island. The export activity demonstrates the competitiveness of agricultural products from Karo Regency in the global market. Furthermore, the Karo Regency Government will collaborate with farmers and companies to optimise export activities and invite stakeholders to discuss the marketing of agricultural products to a broader market. Consequently, farmers can experience tangible benefits and enhance their economic prosperity, along with access to specialist advice to cultivate superior quality produce.
