The Indonesian government, led by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, is intensifying efforts to stimulate domestic consumption as a key driver of national economic growth. Household spending currently contributes 54% to GDP, aligning with President Prabowo Subianto’s directive to strengthen the domestic economy. Initiatives like Friday Mubarak and Belanja di Indonesia Aja (BINA) Lebaran have proven effective, generating over IDR 100 trillion in transactions. These programs reflect the public's enthusiasm for buying local products and underscore the success of public-private collaboration in empowering small businesses and boosting the competitiveness of Indonesian MSMEs.
With support from 150 retail brands and 80,000 outlets across the country, these programs offered up to 70% discounts through nationwide bazaars and mall events, reinforcing consumer interest. The government aims to expand these efforts through a year-round calendar of events such as the Jakarta Festival, BINA Holidays, BINA Back to School, and national celebrations like Independence Day and year-end sales. These upcoming initiatives are expected to further increase consumer spending, create more equitable economic opportunities across regions, and contribute positively to Indonesia’s 2025 economic outlook. Minister Airlangga emphasized the government's commitment to continuing and scaling these programs nationwide for sustained economic momentum.
