Minister of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions (Mendes PDT) Yandri Susanto and Deputy Minister Ahmad Riza Patria officially flagged off the export of 18.5 tons of coconut sugar produced by BUM Desa Kabul Ciptaku to Hungary, with a shipment valued at USD 35,000. The ceremony, attended by Trade Minister Budi Santoso and Banyumas Regent Sadewo Tri Lastiono, is part of one of the Ministry’s 12 Action Plans—empowering village-owned enterprises and realizing the “Export Village” initiative. Yandri emphasized this export as a follow-up to the MoU with the Trade Minister, aiming to strengthen Indonesia’s rural economy through international trade.
Yandri expressed confidence that continued partnerships like this would help meet President Prabowo Subianto’s target of 8% economic growth, with villages contributing 2–3% through programs such as Export Villages, Food Resilient Villages, and Energy-Self-Sufficient Villages. He urged the BUM Desa to maintain high production quality, noting that 90% of global coconut sugar demand is met by Indonesia, and 80% of that comes from Banyumas and surrounding areas—making it the backbone of the industry. The ministers and officials also toured the production facility, guided by BUM Desa director Akhmad Hariyanto, with several high-ranking figures from government and parliament in attendance.
