Minister of Manpower Yassierli held a series of important bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the BRICS Labour Employment Ministers' Meeting (LEMM) in Brazil. These included a meeting with the Emiratisation Minister of Resources, as well as the Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Abdurahman Al Awar. Both parties agreed to commence immediate follow-up discussions at the technical level concerning cooperation in the sending of apprentices and the preparation of Indonesian workers for employment in the UAE through training at the Job Training Centre (BLK), with the training to be tailored to meet the skills requirements of users in the UAE.
In addition, during a meeting with Chinese Minister of Labour Wang Xiaoping, Yassierli emphasised that Indonesia has business-supporting regulations. Moreover, Yassierli said he would help provide info on labour regulations, especially in industrial relations, to boost investment from Chinese companies in Indonesia, also the Ministry is ready to provide trained Indonesian workers for Chinese industry via training programmes at BLK. Wang welcomed the invitation and invited the Indonesian delegation to visit China to strengthen cooperation and help Indonesia prepare a workforce that meets the needs of Chinese companies operating there.
