The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) continues to strengthen Indonesia's role in the global halal industry ecosystem. As the country with the largest Muslim population in the world, Indonesia has great potential to become the center of the global halal industry. Kemenperin is actively supporting strategic programs aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of national halal products, including backing halal industry exhibitions at both national and international levels.
In line with this potential, Kemenperin, in collaboration with PT Dyandra Promosindo, recently kicked off the Halal Indonesia International Industry Expo (Halal Indo) 2025. This event marks the beginning of preparations for the largest halal industry exhibition in Indonesia, which will be held from September 25–28, 2025, at ICE BSD City, Tangerang. Halal Indo 2024 attracted over 12,000 visitors and generated a transaction value of IDR 1.3 billion. For 2025, with the theme "Where Halal Meets the World," the expo aims to draw more than 15,000 visitors from both domestic and international markets. The event will bring together stakeholders from various sectors of the halal industry, including producers, buyers, regulators, associations, SMEs, and investors from over 20 countries. This initiative is expected to strengthen the halal ecosystem across all stages of production and distribution.
