MIND ID President Director Maroef Sjamsoeddin revealed that currently PT Vale Indonesia Tbk (INCO) has three strategic projects, namely, IGP Pomalaa, IGP Morowali, and the HPAL Sorowako project. These three projects have an investment value of 8.5 billion US dollars. "We want to ensure that the presence of MIND ID in the management of Vale Indonesia is able to drive greater added value for the company and for Indonesia, accelerating nickel downstreaming," he said in a statement to the media, Tuesday, April 29th. He added that these projects are important milestones in strengthening nickel production capacity while building a foundation for the electric vehicle industry ecosystem in Indonesia. On the other hand, these three national strategic projects will increase Vale Indonesia's production capacity by a total of 240 kt Ni/year in mixed hydroxide precipitate (MHP).
MIND ID ensures strategic support and monitoring of the project development process so that it runs according to the completion target in 2026-2027. "With increasing production capacity, MIND ID together with Vale Indonesia are optimistic that they can strengthen the multiplier effect on the national economy, increase employment absorption and increase state revenues in the future," added Maroef. It should also be noted that currently, Vale Indonesia President Director Febriany Eddy has been appointed as the leader of Danantara. Maroef also welcomed Febriany Eddy's assignment. According to him, this will be a bridge for the creation of stronger communication and collaboration between Danantara and the MIND ID Group. Maroef also appreciated Febriany Eddy's leadership which has built harmony in Vale Indonesia, a foundation that he believes will continue to be maintained by all Vale Indonesia people in the future. "Febriany's consistency and enthusiasm will continue to burn and bring greater benefits to the development of the Indonesian mining industry," he said.
