The Patimban Port development project in Subang, West Java is currently in phase 1-2, with the car terminal (package 5) and container terminal (package 6) scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2025. The construction of the car terminal is 78.90% complete, with the project scheduled for completion by 28 October 2025. Meanwhile, the construction of the container terminal is 73.87% complete, with an expected completion date of 3 November 2025. Progress is being made on the port development project, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed on schedule, thereby increasing capacity at the port and, most significantly, enhancing logistics competitiveness on a national scale. The construction of the package 5 car terminal represents a continuation of the development of the package 1 vehicle terminal area, which is currently operational. The package 5 vehicle dock will increase the vehicle terminal's capacity from 218,000 completely built up (CBU) to 600,000 CBU. Concurrently, the container terminal's capacity is set to rise from 250,000 TEUs to 1.9 million TEUs.
The development of Patimban Port is intended to ensure optimal logistics management across western, central and eastern Indonesia. These measures are crucial for fostering equitable development and economic growth in Indonesia, while also establishing the region as a pivotal hub for automotive import-export activities from various industrial areas in West Java. Vehicle export-import activity at Patimban Port has seen consistent and positive annual growth. The largest vehicle export destinations are in a number of countries, including the Philippines, Brunei Darussalam, and Japan, while the largest vehicle importing countries are Japan, Malaysia, China, and Thailand.
