North Sulawesi’s Deputy Governor, Victor Mailangkay, stated that local entrepreneurs are now capable of meeting export quality standards for commodities shipped abroad. Certified by Indonesia's Agricultural Quarantine Agency, North Sulawesi’s agricultural and fisheries products have officially met destination country requirements. Victor emphasized that recent exports of key commodities are now registered under North Sulawesi's name, a significant shift that will positively impact revenue-sharing allocations. To further boost exports, the local government plans to create a more supportive environment for exporters, encouraging them to expand their export volumes with easier access and stronger incentives.
On April 23, North Sulawesi exported key products to seven countries, including coconut derivatives, nutmeg flowers, and canned fish, supplied by businesses across several districts and cities. The shipments included 75 tons of coconut water concentrate worth IDR 4.83 billion, 52 tons of desiccated coconut valued at IDR 2.83 billion, 15 tons of desiccated coconut and coco chips worth IDR 0.33 billion, 5.46 tons of nutmeg flowers valued at IDR 1.01 billion, and 66.28 tons of canned tuna worth IDR 4.36 billion. The provincial government is also mapping commodity origins down to the village level to ensure traceability and strengthen the identity of North Sulawesi's flagship exports.
