Bintan Regency achieved the highest economic growth in Indonesia’s Riau Islands Province in 2024, recording an impressive 8.89% growth rate—well above the national target of 8% set by President Prabowo. This marks a notable improvement from the previous year’s 6.14%, driven by various community-based economic initiatives. The Head of BPS Bintan, Nur Ikhlas, announced the figure during a meeting attended by Bintan Regent Roby Kurniawan and local government officials.
Regent Roby expressed his gratitude for the remarkable progress but emphasized the importance of not becoming complacent. He urged all departments to continue innovating and sustaining economic momentum, especially through grassroots programs that directly impact local communities. Highlighted efforts include senior citizen aid (BLT Lansia), community incentives, and multifunctional projects like Gerbang Kampung, which aims to empower villages. Roby reaffirmed the local government's commitment to enhancing innovation across all departments to ensure consistent and inclusive economic advancement in the years ahead.
