BPOM together with the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) held a hybrid strategic meeting with business actors in order to finalize preparations for Indonesia's participation in "World Expo 2025", Monday (21/4/2025). This meeting marked a collaborative step between regulators, the business world, and other stakeholders to encourage the promotion of Indonesia's superior products on the international stage. This activity was attended by the Head of the BPOM Cooperation and Public Relations Bureau Lynda Kurnia Wardhani, Deputy Chairperson for Agriculture of KADIN Devi Erna Rahmawati along with KADIN leaders, as well as a number of business actors from the drug, traditional medicine, cosmetics, and processed food sectors.
In her remarks, Lynda said that Indonesia will use the momentum of World Expo 2025 as a strategic period to showcase innovations in the drug and food sectors. BPOM will play an active role in facilitating the participation of curated industry players, as part of efforts to strengthen the competitiveness of national products. "Expo Osaka is a prestigious event that only takes place once every 5 years. This is a strategic opportunity to boost exports and introduce our products to the world," said Lynda. Meanwhile, the Head of the Osaka Committee of KADIN Andi Anzhar emphasized the readiness to support logistics, search for business partners through cooperation with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), and facilitate business matching with potential partners in Japan. KADIN expressed its commitment to finding a subsidy or facilitation scheme, especially for business actors fostered by BPOM. More than 30 companies from various sectors have been identified to participate. "Let's show the world that Indonesia has superior products that are high quality, safe, and globally competitive," concluded Lynda.
