Amidst the ongoing trade tensions between the United States and China, the Indonesian government remains optimistic about achieving its 2025 national export target of USD 294.45 billion or IDR 4,981.26 trillion (exchange rate IDR 16,917.17). Director General of International Trade Negotiations at the Ministry of Trade, Djatmiko Bris Witjaksono, acknowledged the complexity of responding to the trade war, particularly given Indonesia's exposure to a 10% tariff increase on imported goods from the United States. However, the government and business leaders remain optimistic about the situation, and the government is committed to achieving the national export target this year, with a target export growth rate of 7.1%. With new agreements, such as the Indonesia-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (IJEPA), and other existing agreements, the government hopes to achieve its target and become one of the drivers of export performance. The Ministry of Trade will be working to encourage the growth of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises to help drive this year's export growth of USD 294.45. The target is the result of calculating the export target that must be achieved over the period 2025-2029 to achieve Indonesia's economic growth of 8% in 2029.
