Mojokerto Government Begins Talunbrak Bridge Construction to Improve Access and Drive Economic Growth

The Mojokerto Regency Government has initiated the construction of the Talunbrak Bridge in Talunblandong Village, Dawarblandong District, aiming to strengthen regional connectivity and support local economic activity. Backed by a IDR 14.9 billion grant from Indonesia’s National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), the 60-meter-long, 6-meter-wide bridge will link Dusun Brak and Dusun Talun with Ngampel Village in Gresik, enabling four-wheeled vehicle access and enhancing transportation between the two regencies. The project, a key part of Bupati Gus Barra’s 100-day work program, addresses long-standing disruption caused by the 2021 flood that damaged the previous bridge—an essential route for school, work, and agricultural activities.

Bupati Gus Barra emphasized the bridge’s significance, stating it would benefit not only Mojokerto residents but also those in Gresik. He expressed gratitude that permanent construction could now begin, ensuring safer access to education, healthcare, and economic resources. Highlighting the importance of infrastructure in public welfare, he urged the Public Works and Spatial Planning Department (PUPR) to deliver high-quality results and conduct thorough oversight. Gus Barra also called on law enforcement and the District Attorney's Office to support the smooth execution of infrastructure development in Mojokerto. He reminded officials that public expectations are high, and every project—from bridges to roads and irrigation—should be handled with care and integrity to avoid disappointing the community. The Talunbrak Bridge project is seen as a symbol of recovery, resilience, and inclusive regional development.
