BPS Records Indonesia’s Exports Reaching USD 23.25 Billion in March 2025

Indonesia’s Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the country’s exports in March 2025 reached USD 23.35 billion, marking a 5.95% increase from February’s USD 21.98 billion. On a year-on-year basis, exports also rose by 3.16% compared to March 2024. BPS Chief Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti stated that the monthly growth was mainly driven by oil and gas exports, which jumped by USD 1.45 billion or 28.81%. Meanwhile, non-oil and gas exports rose by 4.71%, reaching USD 21.80 billion. The key contributors to this growth were shipments of metal ores, slag and ash, iron and steel, as well as electrical machinery and equipment. For oil and gas, the export increase was largely attributed to refined petroleum products, contributing 1.18%.

Annually, the 3.16% export increase in March 2025 was supported by higher non-oil and gas exports of animal and vegetable fats, nickel and related products, and electrical machinery. China, the United States, and India were Indonesia’s top three export destinations during the month. Amalia highlighted that non-oil and gas exports to these countries amounted to USD 5.02 billion, up 21.50% compared to February 2025. Specifically, non-oil and gas exports to the United States reached USD 2.63 billion, marking a 12.06% rise from the previous month.
