The First Day of the 35th Trade Expo Indonesia Recorded a Trade Contract of USD 467.92 Million

The first day of the implementation of the 2020 Trade Expo Indonesia Virtual Event (TEI-VE), the buying mission program managed to record a trade contract of USD 467.92 million. This achievement stems from the signing of 24 memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Indonesian companies and companies from Japan, the Netherlands, Australia, Singapore, Hungary, Egypt and India.

The signing of the MoU was witnessed by the Minister of Trade Agus Suparmanto and the Ambassador of the buying mission participating countries. The signing of the MoU on the purchase contract was carried out by the leaders of Indonesian exporters and trading partner countries at Hotel Mulia to coincide with the implementation of the TEI-VE 2020 opening ceremony on Tuesday (10/11). "On the first day of TEI-VE implementation, 24 MoUs of purchase mission contracts with seven countries have been signed with a total value of USD 467.92 million. Purchasing mission contracts will continue to increase until the last day of TEI-VE implementation," said Trade Minister Agus in his statement, Wednesday (11/11/2020).

The products that were of interest on the first day of purchasing mission included processed food, paper products, coffee, palm oil, beverages, wood products, footwear, coal fertilizer, processed coconut, tires, bar soap, brooms, and spices. spices.

The Trade Minister emphasized that the purchase mission program was carried out by the Ministry of Trade as an effort to increase national exports. "The purchasing mission is one of the schemes of activities at TEI-VE to help the business world to make agreements or trade contract transactions," he said. The Trade Minister conveyed that the enthusiasm of business actors in TEI-VE is still high. "Even though it was held virtually, this time TEI did not dampen the steps of business actors to participate and continue to export their products to the global market," concluded the Trade Minister.
