Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), Nusron Wahid, has reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing regional economic development during a working visit to the Central Sulawesi BPN Regional Office on April 11, 2025. He emphasized that economic growth hinges on productive land utilization, stating that unused or monopolized land must be repurposed to empower local communities and stimulate business activity.
To ensure accountability, the Ministry plans to review existing land rights—especially the Right to Cultivate (HGU)—to verify whether the land is being used effectively and aligned with downstream industry development. Nusron acknowledged the positive impact of industrial downstreaming in Sulawesi and urged the growth of non-mining sectors to support broader, more equitable prosperity. He also encouraged landowners in Central Sulawesi to formally register their land, ensuring legal certainty and reducing land conflict risks. During his visit, Nusron presided over a meeting with regional land office heads, distributed land certificates for five places of worship in Palu and Sigi, and inaugurated a new mosque as a show of support for religious infrastructure.
