Whale Shark Tourism in Gorontalo Boosts the Economy of MSMEs

Whale Shark Tourism in Gorontalo has an impact on improving the economy of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Botubarani Village, Kabila Bone District, Bone Bolango. MSME actor from Botubarani Village Astin Tadulako in Gorontalo, Monday, said that since 2016 he has been selling at the tourist location, every month he has felt an increase in income. "The highest income while I was selling here was more than IDR 1 million a day," said Astin. She said that the amount of income is very dependent on the number of visitors, especially on holidays because tourists will linger at the tourist location and can automatically order food and drinks to consume.
The price of snacks, he said, is still in accordance with the selling price at stalls in general, starting from drinks at IDR 5000 per glass to IDR 10000 to IDR 15000 per portion for heavy meals. "Pocket-friendly," he said. Luck has also been enjoyed in the last few months because there was a surge in visitors during the fasting and Eid holidays, so that income has also increased significantly. He and the owners of the stalls at the tourist location also play an active role in promoting the Botubarani Whale Shark Tour through their social media accounts, with the aim of making it more widely known and attracting visitors. "I feel grateful and would be more grateful if the government provided capital assistance to us, so that the menu or snacks we sell can increase so that income increases. Don't forget we also continue to promote this tourist spot through social media accounts," he said.
