Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Andi Amran Sulaiman stated his party's readiness to synergize with the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kingdom of Jordan to advance the agricultural sectors of both countries through concrete collaboration that is mutually beneficial and oriented towards sustainability. "Indonesia is ready to share experiences and strengthen relations with Jordan to advance the agricultural sectors of both countries," said Minister of Agriculture Amran in a statement in Jakarta, (15/4). Minister of Agriculture Amran held a casual meeting with the Minister of Agriculture of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Khaled Al Henefat in Amman on Monday (14/4), in order to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector. The meeting focused on discussing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) covering the development of agricultural commodities and cooperation in the field of fertilizers.
According to the Minister of Agriculture, the casual chat was the initial momentum to align visions and explore strategic collaboration space before the official signing of the MoU which will be carried out in the presence of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto and King of Jordan Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein. The two ministers exchanged views on the potential for increasing trade in agricultural commodities and innovation to support food security. Jordanian Minister of Agriculture Khaled Al Henefat expressed his interest in studying the practices and advantages of Indonesia's agricultural sector. As a follow-up, Amran plans to specifically invite a Jordanian delegation to Indonesia to further discuss opportunities for cooperation before the signing of the MoU. "This meeting is the first step towards closer collaboration, with the hope of providing real benefits for farmers and food security in both countries," said the Minister of Agriculture.
