On 14 April 2025, the Mayor of Bandung met with the Singapore delegation. The Bandung City Government and the Singapore Government are exploring various opportunities for cooperation in the economic, technical and educational fields, including increasing the capacity of human resources, various educational and research institutions in Bandung and Singapore, as well as investment cooperation in various technical sectors and exchange of knowledge on the environment. The objective is to enhance Bandung's competitiveness, particularly in the context of accessing training, capital, and promotional opportunities for its creative industry products in Singapore. The tourism sector of the city of Bandung can be utilised as a knowledge transfer medium in Singapore, a heritage city, with locations such as pendopo, alun-alun and city hall that have historical value. This collaboration will focus on the development of tourism city planning strategies. Singapore's Ambassador to Indonesia, Kwok Fook Seng, has expressed Singapore's readiness to work with the City of Bandung, considering the many opportunities for cooperation.
Previous collaborative efforts between the Bandung City Government and the Singaporean Government include the 2014 'Singapore's Experience in Infrastructure Management and Corruption Control' training programme under the Singapore Cooperation Programme. Furthermore, between 6-10 November 2027, representatives from Bandung City Government participated in the Temasek Foundation International Leaders in Urban Government Programme (TFILUGP). Also, between 8-12 January 2024, representatives from Bandung City Government participated in the 2nd Indonesia-Singapore Civil Service Exchange Programme, a cooperation between the Civil Service Agency and the Civil Service College Singapore.
