Aceh’s signature commodity, patchouli oil, has successfully expanded its global reach with a recent export to Paris, France, by PT U–Green Aromatics International. This milestone marks a significant step in positioning Aceh’s patchouli as a key player in the international fragrance and cosmetics industry. Known for its superior quality, Acehnese patchouli continues to gain recognition on both national and international stages. The Banda Aceh Customs Office played a pivotal role in this export, providing technical assistance, document facilitation, and smooth customs procedures, reinforcing its commitment as both a regulator and trade facilitator.

Customs Chief Dede Mulyana praised the initiative, noting that such efforts elevate local potential to the world market and drive regional economic growth. The success reflects strong collaboration among the central government, local authorities, and the private sector, showing how synergy can open doors for other Acehnese export products. Beyond its economic impact, the export of patchouli oil contributes socially by improving the welfare of farmers and small businesses involved in the production chain.
