Maluku’s Exports Rise 25.5% in February 2025, Driven by Non-Oil Sectors

Maluku recorded a strong export performance in February 2025, reaching USD 5.98 million, a 25.52% increase from January, according to the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Maluku Province. All exports in this period came from the non-oil and gas sector, signaling growth in sustainable and diversified trade. Cumulatively, exports for January–February 2025 amounted to USD 10.75 million, up 16.61% from the same period in 2024, highlighting Maluku’s growing role in regional trade.

The main export destinations were countries in the Asian region, with China leading at USD 5.56 million in February. Interestingly, a significant portion of Maluku’s exports—USD 3.85 million—was shipped through ports outside the province, marking a 159% increase compared to January. While this cross-regional shipping channel saw a slight year-on-year dip of 9.82% over the first two months of 2025, the overall momentum remains positive. These figures reflect Maluku’s expanding trade activities, increased demand for its non-oil commodities, and growing logistical integration with other regions—positioning the province for further export growth in the months ahead.
