Java Coffee Estate (JCE), a coffee plantation managed through a collaboration between PTPN IV PalmCo and PTPN I, continues to strengthen its position as one of Indonesia's specialty Arabica coffee producers that prioritizes sustainability standards with international certification. Throughout 2024, JCE recorded positive export performance. This success cannot be separated from the various strategies implemented, including the implementation of Rainforest Alliance (RA) certification and the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), which are the main requirements for these agricultural products to enter the World Market, especially the European Union. President Director of PTPN IV PalmCo Jatmiko K. Santosa in his written statement said that "with the various steps we have taken, we want to make Java Coffee Estate the best quality coffee producer that meets global sustainability standards. Thus, Indonesian premium coffee known as "Java Coffee" is increasingly global and trusted by the world market," he said.
One of the main factors contributing to the increase in coffee production at Java Coffee Estate is the implementation of an intensification program through replanting, which has been carried out in stages since 2021 to 2025 with a total of new plants reaching 1,500 Ha. This program aims to increase land productivity by replanting coffee trees using superior varieties, while implementing the latest, more efficient agricultural technology. In addition to increasing productivity, Java Coffee Estate is also committed to meeting the strict regulations imposed on the export market. The implementation of a traceability system at every stage of production is an important part. Marketing Director of Holding PTPN III (Persero) and Head of PMO Kopi Nusantara of the Ministry of SOEs, Dwi Sutoro, is optimistic that coffee exports from Java Coffee Estate will continue to increase in 2025.
