The 2025 Indonesia-Egypt Day: A Momentum Towards Increasingly Open Egyptian Market for Indonesian Featured Products

On 22 March 2025, within the Indonesia-Egypt Day 2025 and Iftar (breaking the fast) organised by United Egypt for Commercial and Industrial Investment at Sporting Castle Club, Tanta, Gharbiyahm Egypt, business actors discussed various Indonesian products that are increasingly targeting the Egyptian market. Discussions at the event included United Egypt Co's request for Indonesian soap raw material products worth $300,000, and Egyptian bicycle entrepreneur Mohamed Al Masry's request for tyres, bicycle parts, kako powder products, coconut shavings and palm butter for Kreaz Dessert Company's pastry processing raw materials. Egypt is a strategic partner for Indonesia, as evidenced by the growing demand for Indonesian food and beverage products in Egypt. In 2024, Indonesia's exports of coconut oil products to Egypt reached USD 41.9 million, an increase of 29.13% compared to 2023. In addition, the value of cocoa powder reached USD 6.83 million, an increase of 26.67% compared to 2023, and grated coconut reached USD 5.43 million, an increase of 29.56% compared to 2023. The Indonesia-Egypt 2025 Day and Iftar activities show the close relationship between the two countries for 78 years in the fields of government, business, social, sports, arts and Indonesian-Egyptian youth.
