Held at the Dukubanyak Horse Racing Arena in Nagari Balahaie, the event drew more than 40,000 visitors from regions such as Aceh, Jambi, Riau, and North Sumatra. This surge in tourism directly impacted the income of culinary vendors, souvenir artisans, transportation services, and the hospitality sector.
Padangpariaman Regent John Kenedy Azis emphasized that the event was not only about preserving culture but also a key moment for the revival of the local economy. He expressed pride in the event’s success, noting that the large turnout demonstrated the growing interest in the Pacu Kuda as a cultural and economic tourism destination. The event will be made an annual agenda, with plans to enhance its quality, facilities, and scale to ensure even greater economic benefits in the future. Sumatra Barat’s Deputy Police Chief Brigadier General Gupuh Setiyono also praised the smooth and orderly event, acknowledging the cooperation of security forces and the public. The event was supported by numerous sponsors, and the Regent extended his gratitude to the local community, volunteers, and participants, especially those from VII Koto Sungai Sariak and Balahaie.
