Avocado farming is one of the agricultural products that has a high selling value, in the last three years Avocado has become one of the leading products in Malang Regency. Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Malang Regency, production in 2022 reached 44,142 tons. increasing to 48,153 tons in 2023 and 77,966 tons in 2024. That means, from 2023 to 2024 there was an increase of 29,813 tons. Head of the Food Crops, Horticulture, and Plantation Service (DTPHP) of Malang Regency, Avicenna Medisica Sani Putera, said that the varieties planted were various varieties including Kelud, Vietnam, Alligator avocado varieties, and so on. It should be noted that the largest production is in two sub-districts, namely Ampelgading and Wajak. Ampelgading Special produces 34,666 tons.

 "To maximize quality avocados, we always foster farmer groups and institutions, including their cultivation," he said. According to him, Malang Regency has a special avocado that is being developed, namely the Pameling avocado variety. This avocado has a different appearance from other avocados. Even one fruit can weigh 0.8-2 kilograms. "This year, one of the farmer groups (poktan) in Lawang is establishing partnerships with many farmers. Starting from Pujon, Ngantang, Kalipare, Turen, to Wajak. The total land area is almost 300 hectares. It is estimated that next year it can be harvested," he said. According to the echelon II B official of the Malang Regency Government, 900 avocado trees can be planted per hectare of land. Each tree can produce 1 quintal. In total, 300 hectares of land can produce 27,000 tons of fruit. He also added, with constant production, by the end of 2025 it will produce 104,000 tons of avocado in one year.
