Bank Indonesia noted that the 2025 Ramadan Fair (Kurma) held in the Riau Islands managed to record transactions reaching IDR 2.33 billion. Head of Bank Indonesia (BI) Representative Office of Riau Islands Rony Widijarto said that Kurma 2025, which lasted for two weeks, was an annual event resulting from collaboration between the Regional Eksyar Committee (KDEKS) of Riau Islands, the Provincial Government (Pemprov) of Riau Islands, and the BI Representative Office of Riau Islands, as well as strategic partners. "Kurma is also an effort to strengthen the sharia economic and financial ecosystem in Riau Islands to be more inclusive, competitive and provide real contributions to improving the Riau Islands economy," he said, Monday (3/24/2025).
The series of activities of Kurma 2025 presents various superior programs, such as UMKM Expo, Business Matching, Sharia Economic Seminar, Halal Certification Services, Fashion Show Festival by 7 professional designers and 8 potential young designers of Kepri, Sharia Financial Literacy Talkshow, to various Islamic competitions. "This program was attended by hundreds of participants with a total sales transaction achievement of IDR 2.33 billion and financing business matching of IDR 2.19 billion," he said. Kurma 2025 also presents the QRIS 1000 Mosque initiative to expand the use of digital payment systems in places of worship, as well as the Semarak Rupiah Ramadan and Berkah Idul Fitri (Serambi) services to ensure the availability of money fit for circulation ahead of Eid.
