Wood pellets occupy the largest portion of commodities exported from Gorontalo Province in January 2025. The commodity, which is included in the Wood, Wood Products (HS 44) category, recorded a transaction value of USD 2.791 million or equivalent to IDR 44 billion.
Head of the BPS of Gorontalo Province, Mukhamad Mukhanif, explained that in January 2025, Gorontalo Province recorded an export value of USD 5.003 million. This value decreased by 5.39% compared to the export value in December 2024 which was recorded at USD 5.288 million. "Wood Pellets (HS 44) are the dominant commodity for Gorontalo's export value in January 2025 with a value of USD 2.791 million or 58.8% of Gorontalo's total export value," said Mukhanif.

Coconut derivative products are the export commodities with the highest value from Gorontalo Province. This commodity, which is included in the edible fruit and seeds/nuts (HS 08) category, recorded a value of USD 1.836 million or 36.71% of the total export value. "Next, various processed foods amounting to USD 260 thousand, and fish, shrimp and crabs worth USD 28 thousand. Gorontalo routinely exports shrimp, fish and crabs both daily and weekly," said Mukhanif. Meanwhile, in terms of volume, wood pellet commodities were also the dominant ones in Gorontalo's exports in January 2025. Namely 20,370 tons or 95.95% of Gorontalo's total export volume. Furthermore, coconut derivative products amounted to 638 tons (3.01%), various processed foods 175 tons (0.85%), and fish, shrimp and crabs as much as 23.18 tons (0.11%). Mukhanif explained that the three largest export destination countries from Gorontalo Province in January 2025 were Japan with a value of USD 2.827 million including commodities of Fish, Shrimp, and Crab (HS 03) and Wood, Wood Products (HS 44). Then, Germany with a value of USD 733.855 with commodities of Fruit, processed seeds/nuts (HS 08). "Third, Russia with a value of USD 235.883 with commodities of Fruit, processed seeds/nuts (HS 08)," said Mukhanif.
