On 25 March 2025, PT Krakatau Steel Tbk (KRAS) exported 11,600 tonnes of hot rolled coil (HRC) steel products to Italy and Spain. From 2020 to 2024, KRAS exported a total of 865,358 tonnes, demonstrating the company's commitment to providing high-quality steel products that meet international standards. Previously, in 2021 and 2022, the company had made several exports to Greece, Italy, and Spain. In 2023, KRAS exported HRC to Italy, Portugal, Germany, Turkey, Greece, Spain, and Pakistan. The majority of the HRC is utilised for the General Structure and Pipe & Tube segments. The company has set an export volume target of 108,400 tonnes for HRC and plate products in 2025. The company is optimistic that KRAS' sales volume will increase with the approval of the financial restructuring plan programme by the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), including further restructuring in debt settlement worth USD 1.4 billion.
