PT Hutomo Niaga Borneo and PT Karya Lestari Khatulistiwa, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (UMKM), with the assistance of Pontianak Customs, have completed their initial exports. PT Hutomo Niaga Borneo exported 12.1 tonnes of nipa leaf sticks to India, contributing USD 1,724 or around IDR 27 million to the foreign exchange market. Meanwhile, PT Karya Lestari Khatul exported 8.6 tonnes of dried areca nuts to the Maldives, with an export value of USD 1,325.67 or around Rp 21.6 million. The successful export of these UMKM products demonstrates the effective assistance of business actors in Pontianak, enabling them to compete at the international level. Pontianak Customs will continue to provide export assistance and facilitation, as well as regulatory education and procedural assistance through various coaching programmes. Thus, encourages more UMKM to successfully enter the export market and contribute to national economic growth. The initial export success is expected to encourage other UMKM to export, making more local quality products competitive in the global market.
