Indonesia continues to boost its exports of swiftlet nests, with China as the primary market. In 2024, Indonesia's global swiftlet nest exports reached USD 428 million, with China absorbing 70% (USD 428.79 million). The China-Indonesia Bird’s Nest Trade Summit Forum 2025, held in Jakarta, aimed to enhance trade collaboration and market expansion.
Minister of Trade Budi Santoso emphasized Indonesia's position as the largest producer of premium swiftlet nests, adhering to strict international standards. Other export destinations include Hong Kong (USD 62.35 million), Vietnam (USD 22.01 million), Singapore (USD 17.81 million), the US (USD 14.71 million), and Taiwan (USD 7.75 million). The forum also highlighted the importance of food safety and product quality to maintain market trust. With continued regulatory alignment and business partnerships, Indonesia aims to solidify its dominance in the global swiftlet nest industry.
