The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) noted that Indonesia's crude palm oil (CPO) exports in February 2025 reached USD 2.27 billion or increased both annually and monthly. BPS Head Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti said that the export value of CPO and its derivatives was the highest since August 2023, when the export value reached USD 2.40 billion. "CPO exports increased by 58.35% month to month (mtm), and increased by 89.54% year on year (yoy)," said BPS Head Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti in a press conference, Monday, March 17th 2025.
The export volume of CPO and its derivatives reached 2.06 million tons, an increase from the previous month of 1.27 million tons. For information, exports of the Indonesian processing industry increased by 3.17% mtm or reached USD 17.65 billion. The trigger was the export of palm oil and base metals, jewelry, and basic organic chemicals, as well as ships and the like. Meanwhile, the overall export value in February 2025 reached USD 21.95 billion. This value was recorded as increasing by 2.58% mtm.
