The government of Barito Timur, Central Kalimantan, reported economic growth of 4.29% in 2024, up from 3.47% in 2023. Unemployment decreased to 3.26%, while life expectancy rose to 72.21 years, and the average length of schooling reached 12.88 years. Additionally, the prevalence of stunting declined to 5.18%, and the poverty rate improved, reducing to 5.17% or around 2,863 individuals.
Barito Timur received several prestigious awards, including an unqualified opinion from Indonesia’s Audit Board (BPK), public service compliance recognition for Tamiang Layang Health Center, and a "Frambusia-Free" status from the Ministry of Health. The district also excelled in managing special allocation funds and village fund distribution. Financially, the region achieved revenue realization of IDR 1.2 trillion (101.01% of the target) and allocated spending of IDR 1.21 trillion (92.22%). The remaining budget surplus stood at IDR 114.45 billion. To support governance, 43 strategic regulations were enacted, reinforcing Barito Timur’s commitment to sustainable development and economic progress.
