The Minister of National Development Planning (PPN)/Head of Bappenas, Rachmat Pambudy, emphasized the importance of making East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) a national salt industry hub while also prioritizing education. During a meeting with NTT Governor Melki Laka Lena and regional leaders, he highlighted two key aspects of the province’s development: improving education and strengthening the local economy. He stressed that there is no alternative but to act now for NTT’s progress.
Rachmat urged the governor to maintain strong coordination with the central government to ensure key national programs, including healthcare, education, and free nutritious meals, reach NTT. He noted that the province has produced many influential intellectuals and should continue fostering excellence. Additionally, he underscored the need to prioritize salt industry development, given NTT’s high-quality salt, which has global market potential. The government remains committed to supporting infrastructure and industry growth, ensuring NTT’s economic sustainability.
