Indonesian Whole Coconut Exports Increase by 29.84%, Mostly for China-Vietnam

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that Indonesian whole coconut exports in February 2025 increased by 29.84% (Month to Month/MoM). The exports were mostly to China and Vietnam. Based on BPS data, Indonesia has exported 71,077 tons of coconuts in the shell (endocarp) to several countries in the period January-February 2025.

In that period, China was the main destination for exporting 68,065 tons of whole coconuts with a value of USD 29.5 million, followed by neighboring Vietnam with 2,180 tons, Thailand with 550 tons, and Malaysia with 280 tons. Previously, Indonesia's export value in the February 2025 period was recorded at USD 21.98 or an increase of 2.58% compared to January 2025 which was around USD 21.43 billion. Meanwhile, year on year (yoy) Indonesia's exports increased by 14.05% compared to February 2024 which was USD 19.27 billion. "The total export value increased monthly, driven by an increase in the value of non-oil and gas exports. Meanwhile, annually, the export value increased," said BPS Head Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti to reporters at the BPS Head Office, Jakarta, Monday (17/3).
