Indonesian-made cars are increasingly popular abroad. Exports of domestically produced cars have increased in the first two months of 2025. Based on data from the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (Gaikindo), the export figure for Indonesian-made cars increased in February 2025. As many as 10 car manufacturers in Indonesia exported their cars to various countries in the world. In February 2025, Gaikindo noted that Indonesia exported 36,789 Indonesian-made cars in complete or CBU form. This figure increased by 10.1% compared to January 2025, which was recorded at 33,423 units.
Exports of Indonesian-made cars in February 2025 were also better than February 2024. As a comparison, in February last year, Gaikindo recorded car exports of only 34,871 units. Meanwhile, during the first two months of 2025, exports of Indonesian-made cars reached 70,212 units. The figure increased by 3.4% compared to the January-February 2024 period, which was recorded at 67,910 units. Toyota is the manufacturer that exports the most Indonesian-made cars. In February 2025, Toyota exported 11,827 Indonesian-made cars. Meanwhile, in January-February, Toyota exported a total of 23,040 Indonesian-made cars. The second followed by Mitsubishi Motors 9.272 units, then Daihatsu 6.888 units, Hyundai 4.311 units, and Suzuki 1.867 units. In addition to exports in the form of complete cars or CBU, the Indonesian automotive industry also exports cars in the form of disassembled (CKD). In February 2025, exports of cars in the form of disassembled or CKD from Indonesia were recorded at 4,398 units. The Indonesian automotive industry also exported 10,730,833 car components.
