The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Jakarta noted that Jakarta's export value in January 2025 reached US$1.42 billion or around Rp23 trillion. Exports grew significantly by 70.92 percent (year-on-year/yoy) compared to January 2024. In a report released this month, BPS Jakarta noted that Jakarta's export value in January 2025 grew by 1.77% compared to December 2024 (month-to-month/mtm).
Ten main commodities contributed 81.63% of Jakarta's total exports in January 2025. Precious metals and jewelry/gems were the export commodities with the highest growth, up 49.91% (mtm) and dominating exports with a value of USD 291.53 million. These commodities contributed 20.47% of Jakarta's total exports. The second position was occupied by footwear, with an export value of USD 264.01 million, growing slightly by 0.39% (mtm) with a contribution of 18.54% to total exports. Moreover, overall, Thailand is the largest export destination country with a value of USD 203.05 million, followed by the United States (USD 175.65 million) and China (USD 164.54 million). The three countries contributed 38.15% to Jakarta's total exports in January 2025.
