Pontianak City Government Formulates Macroeconomic Assumptions For The 2026 RKPD

The Pontianak City Government is formulating macroeconomic framework assumptions for the 2026 Regional Government Work Plan (RKPD), the 2025 Revised RKPD, and the 2025–2029 Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD). Deputy Mayor of Pontianak, Bahasan, emphasized that the discussions aim to align economic planning with the city’s vision of inclusive and sustainable growth. He highlighted Pontianak's unique economic challenges and opportunities as the capital of West Kalimantan, stressing the need for data-driven planning to ensure effective and sustainable development. Experts from Tanjungpura University, the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), and Bank Indonesia were involved in the discussions to shape these strategies.

Pontianak’s economy showed positive growth in 2024, with a 5.03% GDP increase, up from 4.76% in the previous year, while inflation was reduced to 1.58%. Poverty and unemployment rates also declined, reflecting the effectiveness of current policies. The Human Development Index (HDI) reached 82.22, indicating a very high development level. Acting Head of Planning, Control, and Development Evaluation, Imansyah, stated that the discussions aimed to produce concrete recommendations. Experts, including economists and financial authorities, contributed insights to guide Pontianak’s 2025–2029 vision: a progressive, prosperous, and environmentally conscious city.
