The Makassar City Government and Bank Indonesia (BI) Sulawesi Selatan are strengthening their strategic collaboration to boost the local economy. Mayor Munafri Arifuddin reaffirmed the city's commitment to supporting BI Sulsel’s initiatives, particularly in expanding digital transactions and improving financial literacy. He emphasized the importance of educating the public on responsible financial management to enhance economic stability.

BI Sulsel Head Rizki Ernadi Wimanda highlighted the role of QRIS digital transactions in promoting efficiency, especially for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). He also stressed the need for financial literacy campaigns to protect the public from the risks of illegal online lending (pinjol) and online gambling (judol). This collaboration aims to create a more resilient digital economic ecosystem in Makassar while ensuring effective inflation control and financial security for the community.
