Great news for exporters in Lampung—Panjang Port now features a fumigation facility to speed up the export process for regional commodities. Officially launched by Karantina Lampung and PT IPC Terminal Peti Kemas on March 7, 2025, the facility began operations by treating 134 tons of coffee worth IDR 11 billion for export to Belgium. This initiative enhances efficiency by reducing logistics costs and processing time, eliminating the need for exporters to rely on ports outside Lampung.
Previously, many exporters had to send goods to Java for fumigation, increasing operational expenses. With this facility, exports can be processed directly at Panjang Port, strengthening the competitiveness of Lampung’s products. In 2024, Lampung exported agricultural and fisheries products to 101 countries, totaling IDR 21.52 trillion, with coffee contributing IDR 10.4 trillion. Fumigation is essential for pest control and product quality assurance, a key requirement for international markets. By providing this service locally, Lampung aims to expand and streamline its global exports.
