The National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) is strengthening village economies through the Desa Siapsiaga program, aligning with National Priority (PN) 2, which focuses on reinforcing national defense and security while promoting self-sufficiency in food, energy, water, and various economic sectors. In 2025, BNPT aims to enhance the program by fostering economic resilience in villages. According to Colonel Indra Gunawan, Head of Preparedness and Crisis Control, achieving this goal requires strong collaboration among local governments, ministries, and the private sector to ensure successful implementation in line with government objectives.
In addition to economic empowerment, BNPT is prioritizing gender equality by appointing only female leaders as Desa Siapsiaga facilitators in 2025. The program has received strong support from local governments, with officials emphasizing its role in preventing radicalization and terrorism. Desa Siapsiaga focuses on establishing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for counterterrorism, raising public awareness, and developing early detection systems. This year, the program is being implemented in two provinces—West Java and Banten—covering 11 villages across Pandeglang and Lebak regencies from March 4 to 7, 2025.
