The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) reported that Indonesia’s jewelry and precious goods exports reached USD 435 million in December 2024, a 17.9% increase from November. Cumulatively, exports for 2024 totaled USD 5.5 billion. In response, Kemenperin and industry stakeholders are working to expand market access and business networks for jewelry producers, promoting top-tier products globally.
According to Reni Yanita, Director General of Small, Medium, and Miscellaneous Industries (IKMA) at Kemenperin, the jewelry industry plays a vital role in economic growth. With its contribution to job creation, exports, and cultural preservation, it has strong global potential. The industry is evolving with trends like minimalist designs and 3D printing, enabling personalized, lightweight, and modern jewelry. As jewelry becomes part of everyday fashion, demand for elegant yet functional designs continues to rise, supporting optimism for export growth in 2025.
